About Us

Headbonk Games began as a simple hobby during the challenging days of the pandemic. In a time of widespread isolation, our game nights became a refuge for friends and family alike. Whether immersing ourselves in the rich worlds of Dungeons & Dragons and Call of Cthulhu or enjoying classic board games like Talisman and Dune, the gaming table became a space of solace, connection, and joy.

As the years have passed, our passion for gaming has only deepened. What began as casual family game nights evolved into a creative journey. We found ourselves modifying games, introducing house rules, and always looking for ways to bring more players into the fold.

Headbonk Games owes its origins to a special moment: a train trip to Washington, D.C., gifted to me by my wife. We spent the journey engrossed in tiny board games—compact yet rich in gameplay. This sparked a fascination with the idea of creating BIG games in TINY boxes, and we quickly embraced the challenge of maximizing gameplay within minimal constraints.

This design philosophy is at the heart of everything we create at Headbonk Games, "BIG games in TINY boxes for as MANY players as possible."

Our games, HACK and TROVE, embody this philosophy. We are excited to continue sharing our unique approach to game design with you.

OUR VISION

Headbonk Games exists not for profit, but for the pure love of creating and playing games. We hope our journey inspires others who share a passion for game design. If we can turn our love of games into something special, so can you.

In 2024, as our family has grown, so has our commitment to making the world a more fun place. Our children and families are a constant source of inspiration, driving us to leave a legacy of joy and creativity.

The name "Headbonk" is a term coined by our son—a small nod to the playful spirit that guides us in everything we do.

This is who we are. We hope you enjoy playing our games as much as we enjoyed making them.
